Birth Photos – Abbotsford Hospital

Oh man you guys! Birth photos!!!!

Remember my friend Chelsea whose maternity photos I took in Osoyoos just a few weeks ago? Well she had her baby (a BOY after 3 girls!!) and I was lucky enough to be there to document his entrance into the world! This is the second birth I’ve shot and I’ve been a hot mess both times… probably doesn’t help that both were for really good friends of mine! To be honest, though, before having the birth of my last daughter photographed I wasn’t really sure how I felt about labor and delivery photos. I wasn’t for or against them, I just wasn’t sure if it was something I’d want to have documented. But now that I’m on the other side of it… I am so, so thankful to have the photos to look back on. There is so much that goes on during a labor and delivery and I love being able to go back to see all the smaller joyful moments that are often overshadowed by the pain and intensity of contractions. And to have the photos that show the intense joy you feel once they place that brand new baby on your chest…. ♥ Women are amazing and the whole birth process honestly just moves me in a way I never thought it would.

Out of privacy for Chels and her hubby I’ve chosen only a few select photos to share from Callen’s entrance into the world. I haven’t included any of the actual birth photos but just of the moments before and after. I would love, LOVE to shoot more births so if you’re interested in pricing or want more details on how something like this would work please feel free to get in touch!! 🙂
